Wood River Fishing Trips

A true Spring Creek, this river will challenge your presentation skills.   A tributary to Agency Lake, which is connected to Klamath Lake, the Wood River is home to Brown Trout and migratory Redband Rainbows.  Down and dirty streamer fishing produces best on this narrow intimate river lined with tulles, willows and deep undercut grassy banks.  But don’t be distraught if you are a dry fly junkie – baetis, BWO, Mahogany Dunns and especially hopper and terrestrial action is definitely there to be had.  The Wood River winds through forest and lush farmlands from its spring-fed origin to its tule adorned mouth. There is a slow but defined transition which you will experience as you fish your way down this uncrowded river.

Browns up to 28 inches and Rainbows up to 38 inches have been caught by Roe Outfitters LLC guests on flies.  Four – five pound bows and browns to 26 inches are definitely worth the effort. This is a catch and release fishery only.

Mainly cutting through private property, the Wood River is best accessed by boat. We prowl it’s cut-banks and log jams by drift boat looking for that trophy fish to take our fly.
