Spring Creek Kayak Trip

Spring Creek is a calm and slow moving spring creek with cold clear blue water. Guests are consistently amazed by its striking color when we paddle this pristine waterway.

Morning and afternoon departures are available from the ROE/Zipline office. (29840 Highway 140W, Klamath Falls OR) Reservations are required.

Prepare for a fantastic adventure on this crystal clear Spring Creek. You’ll follow us to the boat launch located near Collier State Park Logging Museum. After the guides provide a safety briefing we’ll push off to explore these gin clear waters.

ROE will provide the gear you need and the guides will bring their knowledge and experience. Our guides are always ready to coach you with paddling techniques as we paddle our way to the headwaters where you can witness the “dancing sand”. This spring creek begins with the springs bubbling up from the earth. These are cold springs to be sure and we don’t take our selves swimming here without a wetsuit! But, if you happen to find yourself immersed in this clear water, you’ll giggle at how quickly you’ll make your way back into your boat! Brrr! A highlight on this paddle, once you’ve gotten use to the gorgeous blue color, is finding the mares eggs along the way. Mare’s eggs are a unique and rare freshwater algae found in only a few places in the world!

On this trip we paddle about two miles up to the headwaters and then paddle back to the boat launch area where we started. From the take out you’l head back to the office for food and drinks or you can head off to your next adventure.

As an alternative, some of our guests will choose to visit Collier State Logging Museum before they join us for paddling. Guests can travel to the park on their own and then meet up with us at the boat launch. Or… you might want to stop off at KlaMoYa Casino and try your luck at the gaming tables! Be sure to confirm details with the office if you’d like to meet at the boat launch instead of our office!
